Kim Cattrall joins Specsavers in the search to find Australia's most confident spec-wearer

Specsavers is excited to announce that award-winning actress Kim Cattrall will be visiting Australia this month to launch the 2016 Spectacle Wearer of the Year competition presented by Specsavers.

Kim takes up the role of star judge and ambassador for the Specsavers’ competition, following in the footsteps of fellow proud spec-wearing ambassadors – actresses Eva Longoria, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Margot Robbie, style icon and Mad Men star Christina Hendricks and international supermodel Helena Christensen.

The Specsavers’ Spectacle Wearer of the Year competition, now in its sixth year, is a nationwide hunt for Australia’s most stylish and confident spectacle wearer. Kim will join fellow judges, including Australian fashion designer Alex Perry and L’Oréal Professionnel stylist, Brett Albury to decide the Australian who has made their glasses into the ultimate fashion accessory.

The actress best known for her role as Samantha Jones on the smash hit series ‘Sex and the City’ is no stranger to making a bold fashion statement. Kim, a proud spec-wearer since the 5th grade, has been styling her look with a pair of glasses ever since her first shopping experience.

Kim said, “I remember looking for glasses during one of my first shopping experiences. I was apprehensive but loved it, there were so many styles to choose from and I must have tried on most of the specs on display. In fact, I still have that first pair!”

“I like wearing glasses so I can see, obviously, but also because a smart of pair of glasses and the right frame for my face is enough of a fashion statement in itself. For me, glasses are the ultimate accessory which is why I’m excited to come to Australia to help Specsavers find the most stylish spec wearer.”

The winner of the competition will receive an all-expenses paid trip to New York, with a friend, will have the opportunity to meet Kim and earn the prestigious title of Spectacle Wearer of the Year. Seven Australian finalists will win a trip to Sydney, including a professional photo shoot and spec style consultation. Entries to the 2016 Specsavers’ Spectacle Wearer of the Year are now open at:
